In my paintings, I share my personal impressions of family from old photos. I hail the hope and the gentleness of childhood, the connection of mother and daughter, and the optimism one tries to keep during war. I also paint household objects that we usually ignore. The design of a faucet that we're too busy to notice because we're rushing to brush our teeth, or a spray bottle that we use hurriedly to clean our mirrors. I slow down and celebrate the beauty of the familiar. |
